The hardest parts and tips
Lip endurance and high notes
Pitch is made with lip tension and air speed. It's a muscle, so it improves with rest
Tip: Short daily sessions, rest after long phrases, and don't 'squeeze' out high notes
Intonation (valve combinations)
The 1+3 and 1+2+3 combinations are naturally sharp
Tip: Correct by pushing the 3rd slide out with your finger, and check with a tuner
Practice location
It's the loudest instrument in the house
Tip: A practice mute (cuts sound by 80%), a practice room, or even the car are common choices
